Rockpool TARANTELLA
The Boat
The Tarantella is a Taran 16 hull with a deck designed for smaller, lighter paddlers. Same length, same distinctive bow, same long waterline, same high front deck and flat hull — lower volume, snugger fit. It exists because smaller paddlers shouldn't have to paddle oversized boats just to access Taran performance.
At 312 litres it is the lowest-volume boat in the Rockpool range. It is fast up and downwind, dry in chop, and responsive in the conditions where smaller paddlers typically work hardest. Loaded for expedition use it performs exactly as the Taran does — composed, capable, and quick. As a training boat it rewards commitment and builds skill fast.
If you are a lighter paddler who wants a fast boat that is also stable and responsive — one that will keep you with the group rather than working harder to stay there — this is the right boat. Bespoke graphics are available as with all Rockpool kayaks.

Construction
Standard — Time-proven hand-laid construction using polyester resin, chopped strand and woven fibreglass. Robust, hard-wearing, and the right choice for most paddlers.
Premier — Vacuum-infused epoxy resin with carbon and aramid (Kevlar) cloth on both deck and hull. Produces a superior strength-to-weight ratio — approximately 5 kg lighter than Standard at equivalent strength. The weight saving is proportionally more meaningful at this hull size.
