The Genesis
The Boat
Valley's shortest kayak — and that's its superpower. The Genesis builds on the Gemini SP's hull DNA with small but meaningful refinements: slightly more secondary stability, a refined chine area for better edge response, and a 4th hatch. More importantly, it now comes in two sizes, which means the hull is genuinely accessible to a much wider range of paddlers.
This is not a specialist surf kayak. It is a short, light, responsive all-rounder that is genuinely fun in rough water, genuinely fast for its length, and genuinely manageable on and off the water. Rock gardens, surf zones, tide races, overnight trips with light kit — the Genesis handles all of it without the compromises a longer boat demands.
Its efficient hull keeps pace with many 16-footers on a club paddle. When the water gets interesting it comes alive. When you get back to the car you don't need help lifting it. For paddlers who are done excusing a kayak that's too big for how they actually paddle, this is the answer.

Fit & Sizing
The 14-10 suits small to medium paddlers at 55–95 kg; the 15-1 is built for medium to large paddlers at 85–125 kg with a larger cockpit opening and more volume through the hull. Both share the same character — the size difference is about fit, not capability. If you are unsure which size is right for you, we strongly recommend a demo paddle before ordering — contact us to arrange one at our Hamilton location or at an upcoming clinic.
