Ontario water stays cold long after the air warms up, and it cools off again well before the leaves turn. A drysuit is what lets you practise rescues, capsize and swim without the cold cutting your session short. Don't own one? Rent a Nookie drysuit for your Kayak Ontario course, clinic or tour.
One price covers every day of your program. Your suit is waiting at the launch, and your instructor checks the fit before you get on the water.

How It Works
Book with your course
Add the drysuit rental to your cart when you register for a Kayak Ontario course, clinic or tour.
Tell us your size
We'll ask for your height and weight so we can pull the right suit from the fleet.
Dress in layers underneath
The drysuit keeps water out; your layers keep you warm. Wear a wicking base layer and a warm mid layer — wool or synthetic, never cotton.
Suit up and paddle
Your instructor shows you how to get in, check the seals and burp out the extra air. Then you're on the water.
Good to Know
- Drysuits are required for cold-water courses such as Level 2 and the Skill Building Series weekend clinics
- For Level 1, a drysuit is recommended early and late in the season, when the water is cold
- Rentals are only available alongside a Kayak Ontario course, clinic or tour — we don't offer standalone rentals
- A drysuit buys you time in cold water. It doesn't replace warm layers, good judgement or staying close to your group
Thinking about buying your own? Rent for your course, learn what fit and features matter to you, then talk to us about a drysuit of your own.

Questions
Do I need a drysuit for my course?
It depends on the course and the season. Cold-water courses like Level 2 and the Skill Building Series weekend clinics require one. For Level 1, it's recommended early and late in the season. If you're unsure, email us with your course and dates.
What should I wear underneath?
A snug, wicking base layer (merino, polyester or similar) and a warm insulating layer such as fleece or wool. Dress for the water temperature, not the air. Avoid cotton — it holds moisture and leaves you cold even inside a dry suit.
How do I know it'll fit?
Give us your height and weight when you book and we'll match you to a suit from our fleet. Your instructor checks the fit and the seals on site before you get on the water.
Can I rent a drysuit without taking a course?
No — drysuit rentals are only available alongside a Kayak Ontario course, clinic or tour.
Does the rental cover multi-day courses?
Yes. One rental covers every day of your program.
Do I need to rent a kayak too?
Only if you don't have your own. The
kayak rental is booked separately and includes the kayak, paddle and spray skirt.
