Rockpool Turismo
The Boat
The Tourismo is the direct replacement for the Rockpool GT — a boat that held a devoted following for over fifteen years. The bow profile carries forward from the GT while the stern takes cues from the Taran, producing a hull that is faster and more capable in following seas than its predecessor. The most significant change is the switch from skeg to SmartTrack rudder, which removes the skeg box entirely and frees up substantial volume in the rear compartment — a meaningful upgrade for anyone who has ever wrestled with packing a GT.
At 17'5" and 54.5 cm beam it sits between the Taran line and the Bach Eto — more volume and stability than the Tarans, more performance than a conventional expedition kayak. Paddlers who ran a GT as their benchmark boat will find the Tourismo immediately familiar in stability and feel, and noticeably improved in speed and downwind behaviour. The adjustable seat and bulkhead position mean it can be dialled in precisely for your build.
If you want a capable expedition kayak that doesn't ask you to sacrifice speed, and you prefer the feel of a fuller hull under you, the Tourismo is the answer. It is equally at home on a three-week Hebrides tour as it is on a technical tidal crossing — stable, responsive, and drama-free in the conditions that matter.

Construction
Standard — Time-proven hand-laid construction using polyester resin, chopped strand and woven fibreglass. Robust, hard-wearing, and the right choice for most paddlers.
Premier — Vacuum-infused epoxy resin with carbon and aramid (Kevlar) cloth on both deck and hull. Produces a superior strength-to-weight ratio — approximately 5 kg lighter than Standard at equivalent strength. Recommended for paddlers covering serious mileage or carrying the boat frequently.
